Summer Run

Oh I am definitely jumping in that thing, I thought to myself.

We were midway through our run up Hamilton Mountain, it was a hot summer day and as we passed the waterfall cascading into the pool I could barely resist the urge to hop in that cool, dark water right then and there.

A few weeks ago I had the chance to be a part of a short film for Territory Run Co. Brett (owner of Territory) and I had chatted about it on a few occasions and finally we were able to get a few people and a date together.

The project was a lot of fun. We piled into Brett’s station wagon and headed for the Gorge. We ran, we laughed a lot, and we even found a spot for a dip tucked in the folds of the Gorge’s side canyons. Here’s the film, if you’ve got a couple of minutes to join us for a summer run, check it out.

This video is for all those memorable summer nights running on trails and feeling like a kid again. Hamilton Mountain, Columbia Gorge, Washington.

It was really fun to work on a project like this. I love what Brett at Territory is doing to build a community around trail running in Portland, and it was awesome to get front-row seats to the incredibly talented Steven Mortinson’s filmaking process.

A perfect summer evening spent trail running with friends, what could be better? A swim at the end to top things off of course.
