August 21st and 24th, 2019

This alpenflo Experience is a free trial brought to you by Territory Run Co!

alpenflo and Territory will select five motivated and passionate individuals from our community to help develop the alpenflo project. All you have to do is complete a short application, and provide feedback on the Experience.

Join four other passionate individuals and your guide as we learn how to use trail-running to get deep into the backcountry!

We’ll convene at Great Notion Brewing in Northwest Portland to get to know each other and learn all about backcountry trip planning and navigation. A few days later we’ll head to the wilderness for a full day in the field to practice what we’ve learned and share a day out.

You’ll come away from the weekend with a solid understanding of the basics of backcountry trip planning, navigation (including Caltopo and Gaia GPS), and considerations for off-trail travel. The intent of this course is to empower you with knowledge and skills to go on bigger and more adventurous runs of your own.

alpenflo Experiences prioritize humility, support for one another, and respect for the natural world. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to broaden your backcountry horizons in a supportive and collaborative environment this is your chance. Sign up now!

Some experience necessary! To get the most out of this trip, you’ll need to be able to run 15 miles in a mountain environment (with ample breaks for snacks and water). This course is ideal for experienced trail-runners looking to broaden their backcountry travel skills. You’ll need to provide your own equipment including running gear, food, and a compass.

If you have questions about the trip feel free to contact me, and if you’re interested in being notified of future trips please sign up to receive alpenflo updates.
